Client Retrospective: Caro Family Shoot

In another retrospective of past work done as part of APC Presents, I thought it’d be a nice idea to look back on one of the most heart warming shoots I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of. The following series was conducted for the wonderful Caro family back in last October.

I was put in contact with Rae, who was looking for a family shoot that felt authentic and candid. We met up on a slightly chilly Autumn day in Apperley and these were the result. These shots were mostly taken with a zoom lens, with a shallow depth of field and a high shutter speed. This allowed me to remain at enough of a distance to allow the family to interact with one another without my presence being distracting or obtrusive. The fast shutter speed helped in capturing the little moments as they sporadically presented themselves: The kind of cheesy grins that can’t be staged, the tender moments of play between parent and child.

This shoot really encapsulated everything I love about working with families. If you’re also looking for a shoot for your family, please feel free to have a look at the various deals I can do on the packages page. The breakdowns describe my rates for studio shoots, and outdoor sessions like what I did for the Caros. I’d be thrilled to get out and work with more wonderful families like this one here.
